The best things to do in Lake Tahoe starts with the lake itself.

I’m at the lake shore at Lake Tahoe CA.

Lake Tahoe is probably one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been to in the United States.

It kind of reminds me of Switzerland in the United States on a minor scale.

It’s really pretty.

There is so much to do in Lake Tahoe, especially if you’re an outdoors kind of person because it’s year-round outdoor activity here.

The water in the lake is crystal clear.

They say it’s 98.6% pure and you can drink it right out of the lake.

I believe it’s so clean because the water all comes from the melted snow from the mountains and the lake is huge!

It is a major ski are in the U.S, and there are several ski areas that border around the lake.

There are all kinds of rivers and streams that run down the mountains to the lake, and people bring their children and sit on the banks of the stream while their children play in the clear water streams!

It’s an extremely fun thing to do.

There are a multitude of bike paths that run all around the lake making for big biking fun and there’s also many places where you can rent bikes if you didn’t bring one of your own.

If you go east from Lake Tahoe about 30 miles there is an old west town called Virginia City.

Virginia City has been preserved just as it was originally with the exception of paved roads. 

In the late 1800’s Virginia City was famous for silver mines.

The streets are lined with all sorts of saloons with one of the most famous being the Delta Saloon.

The Delta saloon has a famous table called the “suicide table”.

The reason it’s called the suicide table is because every owner (4 of them) that owned the saloon ended up committing suicide due to the losses sustained from owning that table.

They have people dressed up in period clothing strolling the streets and I spoke with one gentleman who was the “sheriff” of the town.

He was married to a woman and I asked if she worked in the saloon.  He said “no she’s not that kind of gal” lol..

He said she was a retired school marm.  So I asked her what grade she taught, and she said “all of them”. 

While in Virginia City I also met a woman named Maryia who worked for the undertaker and was the personal guide of the “ghost tours”!

Maryia is a physic medium.

I believe that means that she can feel the presence of spirits, and also get communicated with from them.

She said there are 7-10 resident spirits in the hotel and several hundred in the town itself.

The most famous spirit in her hotel was a ghost named “Rosey”.  Rosey was a young prostitute who got pregnant and ended up committing suicide in an upstairs bathtub in room 11 of it.

They call room 11 “Rosey’s room”.

So Mariya took me to room 11.

Mariya told me that the investigators from the t.v. show called Ghost Adventures had actually come there and stayed one night in the room.

She said that on their video about 3am you could see the door-knob start to turn like someone was trying to get in or out.

What’s strange about that is that the door has an antique locking mechanism which requires a key to be inserted in the door in order to even turn the door knob!    Kinda scary…

So all around Lake Tahoe there are a multitude of things to do.

Our company has contract rate access to several beautiful resorts, usually discounted in the range of 70-90% under retail.

So, if you have a family these luxury resort condos are great for an inexpensive wonderful family adventure!
