When I think of the best places to stay in St Maarten, I think of Simpson Bay.
One specific resort I’ve stayed in there is called the Royal Palms Resort.
St Maarten which is an island about half-way down the Caribbean.
It’s half French and half Dutch.
The resort we stayed in had very large units and if you have a family, it’s a pretty great place to go.
The resort is called The Royal Palms Beach Resort.
The reason I wanted to tell you about this property is because this property has almost all 2 bed-room units.
You could easily live in this resort, it’s that nice.
All the units have full kitchens with cutlery, pots, pans, dishes, and pretty much everything you would ever need for cooking and serving meals.
The kitchen connects to a dining room and then the living room which also has a pull-out queen size sleeper.
The second bedroom had a king size bed and connected from the bedroom to one of the 2 bathrooms.
The bathrooms in these units were all made of marble as you will find in a lot of bathrooms in the Caribbean.
In the master bedroom there is another king-sized bed and another bathroom.
So these units were 2 bedrooms, both with king sized beds.
Each unit also had 2 bathrooms, full kitchens and another pull-out queen sized sleeper in the living room.
So you could have easily accommodated 6 guests.
All the units are built facing the ocean which makes for some amazing views right from you unit.
I went to speak with the activities lady and she said there were many things to do on the island.
The one thing she recommended most for families with children was a snorkel trip.
She said the children get to see lots of fish and really enjoy it.
One of the things we enjoyed most was they had a restaurant where you can sit open air facing the ocean.
It was literally a stone’s throw from the water.
It was so beautiful every time we ate there.
The beaches at this resort were spectacular.
The water was extremely calm just kissing the shore.
It was emerald crystal-clear color, the kind that most people long for.
It was very tranquil on the beach at Royal Palms.
Totally relaxing, unlike some of the busier beaches on the island.
One other thing I thought was pretty neat was they had underwater bar stools in the swimming pool.
I asked the bartender “what if someone gets so drunk, they fall off the stool into the water?”
He replied, “well if they still owe a tab, I’ll go in and pull them out!” hahahaha
I give the Royal Palms a fantastic recommendation as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
